Designed to disconnect the current from the battery. A single turn of the plastic knob is all it takes to neutralise the current draw, which in turn protects the battery from discharging.

Extremely simple - simply disconnect the minus clamp, fit the switch in its place and then plug the removed clamp into the dedicated location.
